A House that Serves Prayer through Cuisine

Founded in 1636 as the kitchen of Kokuseiji Temple,

Fuyahei has devoted four centuries to preparing meals that embody prayer.

In every bowl of soup, in every piece of wheat gluten,

we see a reflection of life’s cycles and the quiet wishes of those we serve.

Prayer is not spoken—it resides in our gestures.

In the act of preparing food, in arranging the space, in calming the heart—

these are the ways we pray.

May each day of those who visit be peaceful and fulfilled.

From our kitchen, we continue to serve our prayers, one meal at a time.

A legacy of devotion and craft, handed down through generations in the heart of Okayama.
